Teriyaki Boy @ Tomas Morato

It's not just an ordinary Japanese fastfood!
After spending 800 for just 2 persons, whoa! The food must be really good!
Of course, teriyaki is their specialty! So, I gave it a try!
We went home with pleased tastebuds and satisfied stomachs!

Chateau Verde

I tried Paella ala Chateau, as what other foodbloggers recommended.

My verdict: The paella is so flavorful. It is said to be good for 2 persons, but not for a bigeater like me. I shared it with my folks, and that makes me craving for more.

Know your Japanese food

I am curious what these Japanese food means. Well, with the help of the ever-reliable Wiki, I gathered facts of some of these food.

1. Tonkatsu - It consists of a breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet one to two centimeters thick, and is generally served with shredded cabbage. The etymology of the word is "ton" (pig) + "katsu," a shortened pronunciation of "cutlet" ("katsuretsu").

That's why it's redundant if you see, Pork Tonkatsu or Chicken Tonkatsu.

2. Teriyaki - is a Japanese cooking sauce such for fish or meat which has been cut or sliced is broiled or grilled in a sweet soy sauce marinade. The word derives from the word teri, which refers to a shine or luster given by the sauce, and yaki, which refers to the cooking method (grilling or broiling). In the traditional way of cooking the meat is either dipped in or brushed with the sauce multiple times before completion.

3. Gyudon - (often literally translated into English as beef bowl) is a Japanese dish consisting of a bowl of rice topped with beef and onion simmered in a mildly sweet sauce flavored with soy sauce and mirin.

4. Sashimi - consisting of very fresh raw seafoods. The name sashimi may have come from the practice of sticking the tail of the fish on the slices, to let it be known which fish one was eating.

Many people believe that sashimi should be eaten before other strong flavours affect the palate.

5. Sushi - is a food made of vinegared rice combined with various toppings or fillings. In Japan, the word sushi refers to the rice, not the fish!

6. Tempura - a classic Japanese deep fried batter-dipped seafood and vegetables. The batter is made of ice cold water, flour, and egg yolks. Small dry bite-sized pieces of food are dipped in flour, then in batter, and then deep fried for 2-3 minutes.

7. Yakitori - is a Japanese type of chicken kebab.
